Colls return to league action at the Skuna tomorrow, we will be looking for a return to winning ways as we welcome Mossley over from Tameside.
The Lilywhites sit 6th in the league table so the game could have quite an impact on the top end of the table, with Colne hosting Trafford and Radcliffe entertaining Prescot Cables to make for an Evo-Stik West Super Saturday!
Last season, Colls visited Seel Park and on a pitch described as “stodgy” were undone by Liam Ellis and Jack Tuohy goals as Mason Duffy gave us a torrid time. Back at Alder Street in February, Jordan Cover bagged three goals as we recorded a rare win over Mossley. Our previous meetings in the North-West Counties have a number of 5 and 6 goal tallies against us.
After finishing a lowly 19th in the Evo-Stik North last season, joint managers Dave Wild and Terry Hincks made a number of changes in personnel, the main one being the signing of big centre-back Adam Jones from Glossop. From previous encounters, we know that he will be well marshalling the defence whilst dominating in the air and also popping up with the odd goal.
Also coming in were attacking midfielder Godwin Abadaki from Shaw Lane and veteran striker Ben Halfacre from Stockport Town whilst Keenan Quansah returned to the club from Hyde United.
Danger men for Mossley are captain Andy Keogh and Aaron Dwyer, although as with Colls, the goals have been well spread out amongst the team.
For Colls, Conor Gaul is missing for the rest of the month due to injury, James Sigsworth continues his spell at Ashton Town whilst Josh Peet starts a stint at Ashton Athletic. We expect Glenn Matthews to continue in the right-back berth following Callum Spooner’s departure from the club.
