Following the announcement earlier today that the 2019-20 season will now be brought to an end, and all results will be expunged, we’d like to make our closing thanks.

Our first season in the Northern Premier League Premier Division has been a baptism of fire, the stature and facilities of clubs we have faced truly eye opening. We have learnt so much, with planning for next season starting soon after the Christmas break, we are better placed than ever to face the challenges before us.

We’d like to thank the league themselves, handling the situation we find ourselves in is a thankless task. They have been open and transparent with all stakeholders. As a club, we have had no additional information to provide beyond what the league has provided.

This season has given us some highs that can’t be forgotten, the giant killing of former league club Boston United in the FA Trophy followed by a remarkable draw with top of the Conference Barrow AFC. These games really did put the club on the map.

Purely being in this division is a remarkable achievement and thanks must go to all involved, particularly to Cleggy, Healdy, Baz Atkins and James Eachus who departed for pastures new part-way through the season. Their part in the club’s history is surely cemented. We look forward seeing them when we meet next season.

Our thanks go to the players and staff who played a part, no matter how big or small, we are in it together. That’s the only way the club can operate at this level. Also not forgetting the friends and families of everyone at the club who also make sacrifices behind the scenes.

Our thanks also go to our ever growing support, our sponsors (big and small) who have been incredible in facilitating the growth of the club, our army volunteers that keeps the club running both on match days and every other day of the year. The development of the ground has been there for all to see, and must continue. The Chairman and committee work tirelessly to that end, and credit should go to them also.

We’d like to also thank all the people we’ve encountered on the journey, friends and rivals, new and old. We look forward to seeing you when the coming season starts.

That is the key point, please stay safe so we may meet another day. Until then, please help others wherever possible, the club will assist the community in any way it can, once it is safe to do so.

Up The Colls!
