Academy Cup Final

There is a smorgasbord of Lancashire Football Association Cup Final action at The County Ground Headquarters tomorrow and one of our junior sides are taking part in the three game extravaganza. Atherton Collieries Academy take on Team Elite in the Under 15s showpiece with the game kicking off at 1pm. The road to Leyland was as follows : Round 1 Euxton Villa (Home) 8-2 Round 2 Whaley Juniors (Away) 10-0 Round 3 Charnock Richard (Home) Walkover Round 4 Squires Gate (Away) 2-2 - Won on pens Round 5 Brinscall Village JFC (Home) 5-3 Semi Final Great Harwood Rovers (Home) 3-2 A few words from the Academy: Atherton Collieries AFC Academy Under 15s are having a fantastic season and following in the footsteps of the successful adult who who are currently top of the Evo-Stik League Divsion 1 West. The team are playing their first campaign in the Junior Premier National Elite League and are doing well, competing against several pro club Academies such as Doncaster Rovers and MK Dons. Reaching the Final of the prestigious Lancashire FA County Cup is the icing on the cake. The players have won many admirers along the way with their style of play since partnering with Select Soccer Coaching and have several players on trial at professional clubs. Chairman Andy Holliday said " We are extremely pleased with the progress this season and these lads certainly have a bright future ahead, we are recruiting for next season and if anyone is interested in joining the club please email andy@selectsoccercoaching.com ".
