Announcement: Colls Mon IPA

The idea of introducing a bespoke Colls beverage has been long and oft discussed, so today we are very proud to announce the launch of our new craft beer in association with local brewery Twinshock. Launching this weekend, Colls Mon Indian Pale Ale will be available to purchase bottled on matchdays, and it will also be available in special boxed packs of 3 for £10, the perfect gift idea in the run-up to Christmas. A product fashioned by Twinshock Brewery on Chanters Industrial Estate, the historical site of one of Atherton’s six colliery pits, we chose the name ‘Colls Mon’ as a celebration of the heritage of ourselves and the local area. Complemented with branding by our own Rob Clarke, it is well and truly a product by the Colls fans for the Colls fans, and one that we can be proud of. Dayle Roberts, co-owner of Twinshock, said: “Having followed the black & whites throughout Cleggy’s tenure, it has been great to see the club go from strength to strength. When the chance came to explore the possibility of creating a Colls beer, it was something that we were desperate to be involved with! “As a brewery that prides ourselves on taking inspiration from the towns and areas we grew up in, to be involved with creating a Colls beer was an absolute honour. “It was great to get to a position where we could make this a reality. Running with the idea of developing an IPA that would appeal to a wide crowd was a great project. We feel we've achieved this by creating an amber coloured ale, packed with Mosaic hops to create a light citrus finish. Ideal for when you want to responsibly enjoy a few beers watching your favourite team! “Alongside the Colls’ Carl and Rob, we are all so proud to have been involved in making this beer. The Twinshock Brewery & Atherton Colls collaboration has been a great one so far. Here's hoping it continues to go from strength to strength! “There only one thing left to do now, and that's enjoy drinking it. Cheers!” Colls Mon IPA will launch at Saturday’s home fixture against Newcastle Town, available from the Clubhouse before and after the match. The Colls would like to place on record our thanks to Dayle and Twinshock Brewery for their co-operation in creating such a fantastic product.
