Tonight all roads lead to Staffordshire as we face Chasetown for the first ever time, The Scholars being one of two teams in the division never to have featured in the North-West Counties. The second team being Market Drayton Town who we host this coming Saturday.
If you are familiar with the name, it is probably following their FA Cup exploits of the noughties. The Scholars faced Oldham Athletic in the First Round of 2005 in a televised tie. They then bettered this in 2007/08, beating Port Vale to reach the Third Round before losing to eventual finalists Cardiff City.
You may also be familiar with the manager, Scott Dundas. Scott managed Norton United as they advanced from the North-West Counties Division One to the Evo-Stik League in 3 years (sound familiar).
Last season Chasetown competed in the Evo-stik Division South, finishing a creditably 5th, earning them a play-off tie away at Bedworth United in which they were edged out 2-1.
Dangerman for The Chase is attacking midfielder Jack Langston, who returned to the club last season fom Stafford Rangers.
The Colls will be bolstered by the returning Gaz and Josh Peet, Greg Hartley who made the bench on Saturday will be in contension whilst Matt Grimshaw is expected to be available again.
