Destination: Leyland – Lancashire Cup Semi-Final

On Tuesday the Collieries make the journey to Leyland to face NPL First Divison North outfit Clitheroe in the semi-final of the Lancashire Cup. The game is to be played at the Head Quarters of the Lancashire FA, the County Ground. To get this far in the competition, the Collieries have beaten Ashton Athletic, Radcliffe Borough and Ramsbottom United all in competitive and entertaining games. The Colls are coming into this game on the back of a 2-0 win against Barnton on Friday night in the quarter-final of the Reusch First Division Cup, Jordan Cover with both goals. Clitheroe, on the other hand, have beaten Lancaster City, Nelson and Bamber Bridge in order to reach this semi-final stage. The ‘blues’ currently lie in 13th position of their respective league and come into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat at home to Scarborough. Chorley, of the Conference North, beat fellow NWCFL First Division side Holker Old Boys 3-0 to book their place in the final at the Macron Stadium.
