Throughout the now one hundred-plus years of the club's existence, Atherton Collieries have always taken pride in being at the hub of the community and this year are extending these things even further with the club hosting a month-long collection of Easter eggs to be donated to Derian House Children's Hospice.
Established in 1993, Derian House is renowned throughout the region as being at the forefront of children’s palliative and respite care, and the club wished to offer support for the hospice and the families that they care for. As such, the club will be collecting Easter egg donations in the Kensite Stadium clubhouse at all home games through February and March ahead of a selection of Micheal Clegg's squad hand-delivering the eggs to Derian House in time for Easter.
All support will be welcomed, with the collection point open in the clubhouse at the upcoming homes games:
Monday 26th February - Brighouse Town
Saturday 3rd March - Hyde United
Monday 5th March - Bamber Bridge
Monday 12th March - South Shields
Saturday 24th March - Scarborough Athletic
