Preview: FC United (FA Cup)

Tomorrow we visit Broadhurst Park, the home of FC United of Manchester in the First Round Qualifying of the Emirates FA Cup. The Reds will be looking to better their run of 2010-11 when they beat Rochdale in the First Round to book a tie with Brighton and Hove Albion. Colls, as ever, will be endeavouring to progress past the Third Round Qualifying for the first time ever in this year’s competition! This marks the first meeting between the teams since 2006/07 season, Colls famously won 3-0 in a North West Counties game at Gigg Lane, Bury. Colls' home game being played at Leigh RMI's old Hilton Park ground in front of 1461 people, this time FC United running out 3-0 victors! FC last season appointed former Bamber Bridge manager Neil Reynolds, Reno brought former Prescot Cables manager Brian Richardson in as his assistant over summer. Richardson's influence allowed the club to attract players such as Cables' Chris Almond, who was top scorer in the Division One West last season. Arriving last week was former Radcliffe forward Tunde Owalabi, a player we know well from our games last season. Parking restrictions apply around the ground, please plan your journey accordingly. The ground is approximately 1 mile from Newton Heath and Moston Metrolink station. Should a replay be required, this will be played on Tuesday 10th September at the Skuna Stadium, 7.45KO as always. We will of course be hosting FC United in our league home game next month! Entrance on the day is Adults £12, Concessions £7, Under 18’s £3. Turnstiles open at 1pm.
