Gareth Peet has completed a move from Premier Division side Nelson to rejoin Atherton Collieries.
Peet - who left the club over the summer - has today rejoined Collieries bolstering attacking options. The versatile left footer made 32 appearances in his final spell at Alder House scoring 19 goals in the process. This form rightly earned him a move up a division following Collieries failed promotion bid last campaign. Speaking on the signature, manager Michael Clegg said, "I wanted to keep Gaz in the summer but he wanted a new challenge after the disappointment of last season and Mark Fell gave him that." "Nelson are a fantastic club and they have shown class in allowing him to come back to us." "We know that Gaz will give us more quality in the final third as well as at the back. With this in mind it's hard to say no when you know a lad like that wants to come back to the club. You just have to accommodate him." "I'm hoping Gaz has a massive contribution for the second half of the campaign. He will lift those around him and I'm sure this will bring even better performances from the other lads. He is a top player at this level."
