Pre-Season Update: 15/06/22

Atherton Collieries are delighted to confirm the addition of Sheffield FC to this summer's pre-season schedule, which will also be designated as our traditional "Jolly Boys" fixture, on Saturday 30th July. Our hosts are, of course, the world's oldest football club, with the fantastic city of Sheffield being rightly celebrated as the home & birthplace of football. Currently plying their trade in the Northern Premier League's First Division East, this friendly is likely the first time the Colls have faced this historic football club. Sheffield FC currently play at the Coach & Horses, on the border between Sheffield and Dronfield, with plans in place to move to a new stadium within the city in the near future. Fans of the 'Jolly Boys' will also be excited to know there are plenty of nearby options for pre-match festivities, with great public houses available in the nearby Sheffield district of Woodseats as well as the highly recommended Coach & Horses pub at the ground itself. Travel details & ticket information will be confirmed in due course.
