Keith Wedge joins AFC Darwen

Defender Keith Wedge has joined Premier Division side AFC Darwen. Wedge played 41 times for Collieries during two spells at the club under both Steve Pilling and Michael Clegg. He originally came to Alder House from Clitheroe in March 2014 when Pilling looked to strengthen in defence ahead of a promotion push. Having fallen just short, Wedge then moved back up two divisions to Radcliffe Borough where he remained until Clegg brought him back to the club. Winning the league title and the Bolton Hospital Cup, Wedge was part of the most successful team Atherton Collieries have ever had.  He links up with former Collieries defenders Gareth Carson and Luke Gibson at Darwen, alongside former first team coach Scott Campbell. Keith's hard work and commitment was crucial in our successes over the past two years. We wish Keith all the best, along with his partner Laura and their recent addition Drew Olive.
