We can confirm that midfielder Kris Holt, who followed the management team from West Didsbury and Chorlton, has departed the club. An integral part of the team that won the North West Counties Division One and Premier Divisions who appeared in our top players of the last decade shortlist, Kris has opted once again to play his football at Runcorn Linnets.
Speaking about the departure, assistant manager Rob Sadler said:
“It was a difficult decision, but the right one for both parties. Those conversations aren’t enjoyable with someone I have an awful lot of time for.
Krissy’s game time has been limited but you need lads you can rely on and trust when you step into a role and that’s why it was a no-brainer to bring him with us.
He would argue he hasn’t been given enough opportunities which is a fair comment but he needs to play and enjoy his football, and with the current squad we couldn’t guarantee him that.”
He leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the club and we thank him for his unquestionable effort and commitment.
