Loan Signing: Ollie Brown

Atherton Collieries can today confirm the signing of Ollie Brown from Alfreton Town, on an initial short-term loan. The Guiseley youth graduate has been quick to make his mark in the senior game. Brown was promoted to the Guiseley first team last summer having previously been captain of the academy side, going on to make 23 appearances for the Lions and earning the Young Player of the Season award at Nethermoor. The versatile young defender made the switch to Alfreton's North Street in the summer. Brown has also enjoyed a three-game loan stint at Frickley Athletic, and was also a key player as the Guiseley academy beat Bolton Wanderers in the 2020 FA Youth Cup. Speaking on the signing, manager Brad Cooke adds: "I'm delighted Ollie has agreed to join us on loan. He had a very successful season in the National League North last season with Guiseley, winning Young Player of the Year. "He is young, energetic, and can play in a number of positions which is exactly what we look for when bringing a player in. It's a great signing for the club!" Photo Courtesy of Guiseley AFC
