Following much speculation, the Collieries are excited to unveil the addition of Luca Defreitas Hansen to the Colls squad.
A confident center-half, Luca has been known as "Trialist #5" amongst the Black & White faithful, gaining plaudits following a lauded and commanding performance against Bolton Wanderers where he made a great first impression with both his defensive and technical prowess.
Luca has previously represented Ashton Athletic within the English non-league game, having been a product of the Weston FC Academy (Miami) before continuing his development with the Portland Pilots (Oregon).
Born in Rockville, Maryland, Luca has a privileged choice between representing the United States, Denmark or Brazil at international level.
Speaking on the signing, manager Brad Cooke said...
"We saw a lot of Luca last season at Ashton a
Athletic, and he was very impressive. He came back over from America and we had the opportunity to bring him in. Luca was excellent in the games against Salford and Bolton, and we are delighted that he has agreed to sign for us. Another young hungry player that will no doubt get stronger throughout the season!"
