A familiar face to Colls fans and a player whose pedigree is well known, Luke Giverin will be returning to the Kensite Stadium this season. We saw a glipse of Luke's ability against Trafford last season when he smashed the ball against the crossbar from outside the box. People with better memories will also remember Luke appearing for Colls against Squires Gate in October 2015, on loan from Salford City.
Speaking about Luke earlier today, manager Micheal Clegg said:
"Last year Luke came in on the back of a successful year in Australia. When he came back we had injuries and the pitches were terrible due to the weather, combine that with Luke becoming a barber and running his own 1-2-1 football sessions, it was extremely tough for him to juggle it all. He played a couple of games at left back but Luke is an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal. Everybody knows that Luke was at Manchester United and Royal Antwerp, you have to have an enormous amount of talent to get to that level."
Looking forward to working with Luke again and emphasising his commitment to attacking football he added:
"Now its up to me, Barry and Healdy to get that out of Luke each week. If we can do that, we have a player worthy of gracing any league. He is a class act and again this signing proves that we are determined to score more goals this year. I'm sure everyone will welcome Luke and look forward to watching him play."
