Atherton Collieries return to the Dreams2Reality.co.uk Stadium on Saturday to face Kidsgrove in Northern Premier League action.

Having all but secured our status in the Northern Premier League for next season, for a record-extending tenth campaign, attention now turns to Saturday’s 3pm kick-off against the Staffordshire outfit, in a game which could see the Colls go three games unbeaten for the first time under Daniel Lafferty’s management.

Saturday’s opposition find themselves eight points below the Colls in the table with a game in hand, and are currently in a decent vein of form, with two wins in three games with a defeat against league leaders Bury being their sole loss sandwiched in between victories over Darlaston Town and Clitheroe. Natty Stewart scored both of the goals in their victory over Clitheroe and is one to watch out for, being the Grove joint top scorer with 6 to his name, whilst joint manager Matt Rhead has also notched twice in the sides last three meetings.

Unfortunately, we tasted defeat against Saturday’s opposition earlier on in the season. Harry Showman scored our only goal in November’s 2-1 defeat but will be looking to add to his 8 goals so far this season in just 15 games. A win could see Lafferty’s side climb up to as high as 9th in the table and look to continue to build momentum as the season begins to come to a close.

Entry to this weekend’s fixture is priced as follows:

Adults: £10, Concessions: £7, Under 18s: £4, Under 11s and 1916 Members: Free.
