Match Preview: Morpeth Town (H)

Atherton Collieries welcome Morpeth Town to the Skuna Stadium on Saturday, with David Chadwick’s men looking to secure all three points against the Highwaymen.

Morpeth enter Saturday’s fixture with 2 wins, 2 losses and a draw in their last five fixtures with their last match being a 5-1 loss against Hyde United, this inconsistency with their form has left the Highwaymen 12th in the Northern Premier League table.

David Chadwick’s men are looking to break an unfortunate run in the league but late goals from Oli Putnam and Dylan Thompson at Ashton United last Saturday have shown that the Colls are fighting for every single point as we look to secure survival in the Northern Premier League.

The Highwaymen’s top goal scorer this season is veteran midfielder Andrew Johnson, the former Spennymoor town man has eleven goals this season and boasts vast experience at non-league level. Colls fans will recognise another veteran in goalkeeper Dan Lowson who has had numerous man of the match performances in our recent encounters.

Make sure to get down to the Skuna on Saturday and support the lads!

Saturday's match is sponsored by Wez Kirwin & Friends and DeGag Digital Assets, and we thank them both for their support of the club. Saturday's matchball is sponsored by Crust N Slice Woodfired Pizza, Hindley.

Please contact the club if you wish to sponsor our Man of the Match award for Saturday's game or any upcoming fixtures.

Tickets will be available on the day through our cash and card turnstiles, for £10 adults, £7 concessions, £4 for under 18s and free for under 11s and 1916 Club members.
