A fellow founder member of the North West Counties in 1982, The Dabbers ascended to the Northern Premier League Division One in 2006. They immediately won promotion to the Premier Division via the play-offs, where they have remained ever since.
Last season, Dave Cooke’s men finished 4th in the league, only to be beaten in the play-offs by Warrington Town. Themselves denied promotion in a “super play-off” with King’s Lynn Town.
Continuing last season's form, Nantwich are sat in second place in the league with 9 points from 3 games. Bank Holiday Monday saw an impressive 3-0 home win over Witton Albion in front of over 500 spectators, with Joe Mwasile grabbing two goals.
The Dabbers reinforced the squad that finished fourth last season by bringing Ben Harrison back to the club, Josh Langley from Southport and midfielder David Webb from Marine.
Our man to watch is young forward Joseph Malkin who grabbed both goals in an opening day victory over Gainsborough Trinity.
For the Colls, new signing Kieran Feeney will be available to boost manager Micheal Clegg’s attacking options after expressing his frustrations at Monday’s late loss to Lancaster City.
