Atherton Collieries have further bolstered their defensive options with the signing of Scottish full-back Ciaran Summers. The 28-year old, who plays primarily at left-back, developed for seven years within the Glasgow Rangers academy before establishing himself within senior football with Stenhousemuir & Queens Park, amassing a combined total of 175 appearances over seven years for the two clubs.
Ciaran relocated to Manchester following a spell playing for Veenendaal's Voetbalvereniging Door Ons Vrienden Opgericht in the Netherlands, tallying 19 appearances for Hyde United after signing midway through the 2021-22 season, followed by 24 for Stalybridge Celtic last campaign.
Speaking on the signing, David Chadwick said: "Ciaran is another player with lots of experience, and we are made up to bring him here. From our conversations, his passion to just want to play football shone through, and he's another great addition!"
