Atherton Collieries can confirm the signing of center-half Jordan Boon, who returns to the Skuna Stadium from Wythenshawe Town. Jordan Boon first donned the Stripes in a short-term loan deal from Bolton Wanderers at the beginning of 2020, before departing to pursue professional football opportunities with IFK Östersund in Sweden. Jordan made 3 first-team appearances for the Whites, breaking through in the same youth cohort as former Collsmen Luke Hutchinson & Finn Lockett.
Returning to England upon the cancellation of the 2019-20 season, Jordan went on to also represent Conference North outfit Spennymoor alongside further overseas opportunities with Banyule City of Melbourne, Australia.
Last campaign, Jordan made 28 appearances for Wythenshawe Town as they recorded a record-high league finish in the NWCFL, notching 1 goal, whilst also gaining additional game time at Poynton, where he recorded 6 appearances and a single goal.
On returning to the Colls, Jordan said: "I’m buzzing to be back! The last time was a short stint but I settled in very well, and I can’t wait to get going again and be apart of this exciting journey. "The togetherness at the club is what I’m looking forward to and excites me the most, plus playing in-front of the fans and to start loving my football again. I feel this is the place to be for that. "I hope to bring exciting times and a good memories back to the club next season and with what Chaddy and the management team are trying to build. I’m excited to be apart of and can’t wait to get going!"
