New Signing: Matty Gillam

Atherton Collieries are excited to announce the addition of young striker Matty Gillam to our squad, ahead of this afternoon’s Northern Premier League fixture at Morpeth. A product of the Rochdale youth academy, Gillam went on to feature in thirty-two senior matches for the club, scoring five goals including two in EFL League One, and also furthered his development with loan spells at Stalybridge Celtic and Cork City. Matty spent last season plying his trade with Guiseley, making six appearances over the course of the shortened campaign. Described as a pacey and versatile striker with technical ability and an eye for goal, the twenty-three year old will go straight into the squad for today’s fixture.
