Atherton Collieries have further bolstered their frontline with the signing of exciting forward Mwiya Malumo, who joins from Farsley Celtic. The striker has made an instant impact over his trial with the club, catching the eye with his pace & hold-up play plus a clinical eye for goal. The former Zambian youth-international has appeared in every friendly so far for the Colls, notching his first goals in the Stripes with a hattrick against Padiham.
Mwiya is a product of the Oldham Athletic academy, from whom he progressed onto Wigan Athletic, and has since gained a wealth of experience in the Northern Premier League and above through spells with Nantwich, Ramsbottom, FC United of Manchester, Skelmersdale, Radcliffe & Irlam.
Speaking on the signing, David Chadwick says: "Mwiya has worked really hard through pre-season and deserves his chance in the squad. He comes alive in the box and definitely knows where the net is!"
