Atherton Collieries can confirm the signing of Nathan Caine, a young forward who joins from Stalybridge Celtic. The 20-year old striker made his breakthrough into football as a product of the Mansfield Town academy, where he was highly rated under the tutelage of Richard Cooper & Nigel Clough, making three first team appearances and scoring one goal.
Whilst on professional terms with the Stags, Nathan also represented Sutton Coldfield, Ilkeston Town & Nuneaton Borough on loan deals before signing a permanent deal for Stafford Rangers in the summer of 2022, subsequently moving to Stalybridge Celtic partway through the season.
Described as a strong & direct striker, Nathan possesses great technical ability and pace, plus to versatility to play in both central and wide roles.
Speaking on the new signing, manager David Chadwick said: "Nathan is someone I've seen on a number of occasions over the last year or so and he's always impressed me. He's quick and direct, and will hopefully be a good addition to the squad!"
