Atherton Collieries can confirm the signings of winger Adam Dawson from Hyde United and defender Dylan Thompson from Nantwich Town.
The signing of 31-year old forward Adam Dawson marks a major statement as manager David Chadwick adds a wealth of non-league experience, leadership and know-how to bolster his young charges.
A member of Bristol Rovers' 2015 Conference Premier play-off winning squad, producing 17 assists from 28 games, Dawson has also made football league appearances with Notts County and Macclesfield, whilst also representing Nuneaton, Kidderminster, Tranmere and Eastleigh in the Conference Premier, plus Telford, Chester & Darlington in the Conference North.
Adam Dawson also brings a level of flair to the Stripes front line, as a skilled futsal player for both Bolton and the England National Team, and is dangerous on the ball with both feet.
The winger joins from Hyde United, where he has played alongside Josh Askew & Jordan Fagbola, having also represented Radcliffe, FC United and Bamber Bridge in the Northern Premier League.
Speaking on his arrival, Adam said:
"I'm happy to be coming into a good environment to play football! I like to create and make things happen, hopefully I can add some experience and help Atherton climb the table. It's also great to link back up with Jordan Fagbola!
"I'm also excited to play under Chaddy for the first time! When we spoke on the phone he sounded really honest and really wanted to bring me in, and personally when a manager values you and sees what qualities you can bring to the team, it's a no brainer."
Joining alongside Adam is defender Dylan Thompson, a young center-half who joins from Nantwich Town.
Dylan is a product of the Everton academy where he played alongside Colls 'stopper Nico Defreitas-Hansen, before progressing to play for the San Diego Toreros in the United States University system. An imposing and strong player, Dylan is also assured on the ball and strengthens the Colls backline.
Both players will be available for selection for tomorrow's clash with Marske United, which kicks-off at the Skuna Stadium (M46 9EY) at 3pm. Get down and show the lads your support!
