News: Injury updates

First team manager Michael Clegg has taken some time to offer updates to the injuries currently hampering the Atherton Collieries squad. Chris Lynch hobbled off shortly before half time on Monday night and it is expected that he will be on the sidelines for a month at the least. Fellow defender Gareth Peet is still out with the ankle injury that he sustained at Goole towards the beginning of January. It is thought that he again is around a month from returning. Striker Jack Kenny was unfortunate to become injured just 20 minutes in to his debut at Colwyn Bay a couple of weeks ago. He sustained a large gash to his knee after colliding with the perimeter fencing and is currently on a drip in hospital as it became infected. It is thought he will make his return within three weeks. Forward Gaz Burnett is still around two months off full fitness having had major surgery on his knee a couple of months ago. Midfielders Luke Giverin and Sebastian Julien are two other long term absentees, with the latter ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with a knee complaint. Giverin has also suffered the same fate and it isn't known how long he will be out of action. Also, defender Jamie Forbes has seen a change in his demands at work and will be used when he is available.
