Atherton Collieries are pleased to announce that midfielder Josh Messer has signed a contract with the club which will keep him at Alder House until the summer of 2019. The local midfielder who scored his first goal for the club in the recent League Cup triumph joins manager Michael Clegg in signing on the dotted line in recent days, with more to come. Messer signed for Colls in November 2014, on a dual registration deal from Salford City where he had won their Young Player of the Season award. He hit the ground running immediately and has played a pivotal role in the two promotions that Collieries have won since, recording his 150th appearance in the recent cup final. As a club we feel that this contract is richly deserved for a player who has always given his all for the cause.
