Atherton Collieries are now close to finalising their pre-season schedule. The previously announced Stockport County friendly has unfortunately had to be cancelled due to a clash in fixtures. The pre-season campaign will begin on Saturday 8th July when we make the journey to West Didsbury & Chorlton. The following weekend, on Saturday 15th July, Colls will then embark on their annual Jolly Boys Outing, with the destination yet to be confirmed. It is then expected that we will be hosting a club on Wednesday 19th July but we are unable to confirm this fixture at the present time. This is then followed by a Monday night trip down the road to Daisy Hill on Monday 24th July. It is expected we will then be back at home again on Saturday 29th July in the NWCFL Challenge Cup. This is the one off game where the league champions take on the League Cup winners, meaning would be hosting either City of Liverpool or Barnoldswick Town. The pre-season campaign is then rounded off on Tuesday 1st August when Evo-Stik Division One North champions Lancaster City make the trip down. The season begins on Saturday 12th August.
