News: Rooney moves on

Atherton Collieries can this evening confirm that defender Adam Rooney has left the club. Having joined the Colls in 2022, Rooney will be remembered for his winning header in the 22/23 opening day victory away at FC United.

Speaking of Rooney’s decision to leave the Colls, Manager David Chadwick said, “Adam has decided after just three games that he wants to play his football elsewhere. We will obviously be sad to see him go but we will not guarantee any player a place in the team. Everyone wishes Adam all the best wherever his future takes him and thanks him for his efforts over the last year. Take care, Adam.”

All the best, Adam!
