News: Special Guests at Leigh Centurions

On Saturday, members of the club were invited as special guests to Leigh Centurions v Wakefield Trinity to parade the NWCFL Premier Division trophy. Leigh Centurions chairman Derek Beaumont invited Colls down to the match, stating in a pre-match interview that he was "proud to celebrate sporting success in the local community." The Centurions presented Collieries with an award of their own too, recognising the achievements of the club over the past season. This is something that will no doubt that pride of place in the trophy cabinet at The Kensite Stadium with so many members of the club following Leigh home and away. Ben Hardcastle led the party on to the pitch and they received a great reception from the crowd of 4,938 who were in attendance. Atherton Collieries would like to put on record their thanks and gratitude to all at Leigh Centurions, especially Derek Beaumont and Mike Latham for their hospitality throughout the day.
