Niall Battersby Signs First Contract

The club are delighted to announce that young defender Niall Battersby has signed his first contract with the club. Joining over summer from Manchester League champions Hindsford, Niall has put in a series of memorable performances, earning plaudits and awards along the way. On Niall's arrival, manager Micheal Clegg highlighted his vision and reading of the game, predicting he could go far. Stating recently that he's yet to see a better young defender at this level, the club have moved to secure Niall's services. Talking to us earlier, Niall said: "Personally I’m very delighted to have signed a contract for a club like Colls. This season has been tough as it’s been a massive step up from playing at Hindsford last year, but I’ve really enjoyed it so far. I can see myself developing and learning from the players and staff who have been nothing but brilliant from the moment I arrived." "It’s also been an experience playing in front of so many people which I’ve never really done before which has definitely improved my composure on the pitch. My aims now are to gain as much playing time as possible as well as finishing in the top half of the table."
