Oliver Roberts Arrives

We are excited to announce the arrival of midfielder Oliver Roberts from Buxton. A native of Tameside, 22 year old Oliver started his youth career at Stockport County before moving to Stoke City. During his time at Stoke he had a loan spell at Tamworth before joining Fleetwood Town. Last season, Oliver played over 50 games for Stalybridge Celtic before heading to the US with New Orleans Jesters. He started this season at Mickleover Sports before switching to Buxton, both in the Evo-Stik Premier Division. Speaking about the signing, manager Micheal Cleggg said: "He played against us for Chorley in a friendly 18 months ago and immediately stood out. We were very impressed that day, as soon as we saw he wasn't featuring much, I was straight on the phone to Phillo at Buxton to see if we could get him some games especially with Josh Messer being injured. We've been a bit light on numbers. Oli adds real quality" Photo courtesy of Fleetwood Town
