On Saturday we make the trip to Volair Park, home of pre-season promotion favourites Prescot Cables. The Hope Street side currently sit in 7th place in the league following Ramsbottom's 6-0 demolition of Newcastle Town on Tuesday, 3 points being essential if they are to rise back into the play-off spots. Three draws and a defeat in January saw Brian Richardson's men fall slightly off the leading pack.
Colls lead at the top of the table was cut to 4 points by Runcorn Linnets last week so they will remain in pole position whatever. Cables on the back of beating Kidsgrove Athletic in front of over 500 people have put an appeal out for fans to turn out in numbers, with the giant clubs of Merseyside not having games. Colls will need all the support they can muster.
The game at the Skuna in October was a particularly tetchy affair, Colls taking the lead with Jordan Cover scoring the rebound from a penalty before Jordan Wynne was shown a first half red card. A towering Ben Conway header and a brace from Luke Giverin put the game out of reach.
Danger man for Cables is undoubtedly 20 goal former Chorley and Southport man Chris Almond. Also worth keeping an eye on is former Bristol Rovers striker Josh Klein-Davis.
New man Connor Hughes will be in the Colls squad whilst both Jordan Cover and Danny Lambert are close to a return from injury.
With our home and away kits clashing, Colls will be resplendent in their third choice "Argentina" kit which has been retrieved from the cellar.
