Preview: Workington – Boxing Day

Atherton Collieries will look to build on Saturday’s hard-earned point at Warrington Rylands when Workington AFC visit the Skuna Stadium on Boxing Day.

Enock Lusiama’s third goal in four games saw Colls claim a commendable 1-1 draw against high-flying Rylands, whilst Tuesday’s opponents are fresh off an impressive 4-1 victory over Ilkeston Town.

That win followed a remarkable run of six consecutive draws, and leaves the Reds 13th in the Northern Premier League table, having picked up 31 points from 23 games.

David Symington stands out as the most obvious one to watch among the Workington ranks, with the former Carlisle United and Barrow midfielder having netted 15 league goals so far this season.

That tally sees Symington sit joint-second in the division’s goalscoring charts, level with Ilkeston’s Jamie Walker, and only behind rampant Matlock Town man Jonathon Margetts.

Tickets will be available on the day through our cash and card turnstiles, for £10 adults, £7 concessions, £4 for under 18s and free for under 11s and 1916 Club members.
