Report: Stockport Town 1-5 Colls

The Colls put in a strong showing in their pre-season outing against Stockport Town, recording a comfortable 5-1 win behind closed doors at the Stockport Sports Village. A brace from Kyle Sambor and goals from Jordan Darr, Dylan Glass and Marcus Cusani saw the black & whites ease to victory, with the focus on building fitness ahead of the upcoming campaign. The visitors took the lead inside the first ten minutes, Gaz Peet releasing Darr down the left-hand side who squared it to Sambor for an easy finish into the roof of the net. A defensive mix-up from Colls allowed the home team to equalise shortly after, Stockport’s forward allowed to bring the ball down in the box and poke it to teammate who slotted home. Colls’ lead was restored just before half time with Vinny Bailey stealing the ball back high up the pitch with some good pressure high up the pitch, setting up Darr who curled the ball past the keeper. The visitors added another seconds before the half-time whistle, Bailey squaring the ball from inside the box to Sambor who cooly finished for his second goal. Bailey was the provider again early in the second half, his whipped-in corner was met by the head of Dylan Glass who dispatched it confidently past the Stockport keeper. Colls' fifth and final effort was arguably the best of the lot, Marcus Cusani’s curling free-kick nestling in the top corner from 25 yards out to round off an impressive win. The Colls' next training match will come against Runcorn Linnets this Saturday. Streaming details for this behind closed doors fixture will be announced in due course.
