It wouldn’t be an ‘Emporer’s new clothes’ moment to suggest our pitch is at times high maintenance. I would say the natural sod is the same as it was when, according to legend, the pitch was turned round all them decades ago. Our subconscious long term ambition is to have a fancy dancy hybrid surface or to go a step further a 4g number.
The pitch continues to improve year upon year but it seems to be raining more and more in the winter months. Thus however hard we try there will always be days when our midden looks like a wreck after a game of three halves (I include the warm up) played out in incessantly hard precipitation.
