Atherton Collieries can confirm that goalkeeper Luke Hutchinson has today returned to Bolton Wanderers. Luke was an popular addition to the Stripes squad, accumulating 9 competitive clean sheets across his 23 appearances, particularly impressing with both his top-quality reflexes and his ability to deal with physical play, as well as his resilience upon returning from his early season injury versus Lancaster.
Luke's performances for the Collieries have been exceptional throughout, and he leaves with our best wishes for what we have no doubt will be a great career within the game.
Speaking on the news, gaffer Brad Cooke said: "Luke has been brilliant ever since he walked through the door. It was a massive coup for the club to have a player with his talent, I have absolutely no doubt that he can and will go all of the way to the top. We want to thank Bolton and Luke for putting the trust in us to look after his development for the short-term. The sky is the limit for the lad, and he will continue to get better week on week!" We would like to thank Luke for his efforts at the Skuna Stadium, as well as Bolton Wanderers for entrusting us with Luke's development. Photograph: David Featherstone
