Squad News: Sidi Fofana Departs

Atherton Collieries would like to wish the best of luck to midfielder Sidi Fofana, who has today departed the club to sign for Bamber Bridge.

One of David Chadwick's first signings last summer, the Spanish midfielder went on to collect the Committee Player of the Season and Manager's Player of the Season awards across his debut campaign, scoring twice across 35 appearances in all competitions, and also captaining the side on numerous occasions.

Manager David Chadwick adds:

"Obviously, I'm gutted Sidi is leaving but we fully understand his desire to play higher and wish him all the best with his move. Sidi was both a quality lad and player for us, and will do well at Bamber under a great manager."

We would like to thank Sidi for his contributions in the Black and White Stripes, and we wish him the best of luck with his new club. We also look forward to welcoming both Sidi and the Briggers to the Skuna Stadium for a pre-season face-off on Tuesday 30th July.
