The Colls are excited to confirm the arrival of three players ahead of today's Northern Premier League clash with Matlock.
We would firstly like to wish a belated welcome to Teddy Mfuni, who joined up with the squad and made his debut as a second half substitute against Lancaster City. A reinforcement in defense, Teddy joins from EFL League One high fliers Oxford United, whom he transferred to after impressing with Witton Albion and Warrington Town.
Experienced goalkeeper Josh Ollerenshaw also joins the Colls ranks from Curzon Ashton. The 6’5 stopper joins with a huge wealth of experience in non-league, having plied his trade at the top end of the pyramid throughout his career with Curzon Ashton, Ashton United, Colwyn Bay, Hyde, Warrington Town and Altrincham, having been a graduate of the youth system at Oldham Athletic before earning a move to Fleetwood Town.
We would like to wish the best of luck to Joe O’Shaughnessy, who has departed the club to pursue footballing opportunities in the United States. Joe has been a popular figure amongst the squad over recent weeks, particularly playing a vital role with his man of the match performance on Boxing Day, and we are thankful for his contributions at the Skuna Stadium.
The Colls can also welcome full-back Lewis Thompson, who joins on an initial short term loan from Bamber Bridge, having previously played under David Chadwick at FC United.
Lewis has represented the Brig 18 times this season, having gained additional NPL experience with a ten game loan at Ashton United last term. Lewis has previously represented Scunthorpe United, making 15 appearances in EFL League Two in the 2020-21, having graduated from the Blackburn academy.
We would like to place on record our thanks to both Curzon Ashton and Bamber Bridge for their assistance with the signings of Lewis and Josh.
We would like to wish a warm welcome to Lewis and Josh, who are both eligible for their Colls debuts at today's game against Matlock Town.
