Atherton Collieries can confirm the loan signings of Finlay Lockett and Arran Pettifer from Bolton Wanderers, alongside the free-transfer of Scottish youth international Evan Cunningham from Blackburn Rovers. Finlay Lockett (center of photo) has been a star forward for the Bolton Wanderers Academy over recent years, and notably became the second-youngest player to ever represent the Whites, when a young Wanderers team faced Coventry City in August 2019, prompting Premier League interest.
19-year old Finlay has made 3 Football League appearances for Bolton, alongside 2 cup outings. Arran Pettifer (left of photo) is an energetic midfielder who also joins from the Wanderers academy set-up. Arran has made two appearances for the Whites in the EFL Trophy, playing against Fleetwood Town and a young Liverpool side, before signing his first professional terms with the club this summer upon completion of a two-year scholarship.
Both players join on short-term loan agreements.
Center-forward Evan Cunningham (right of photo) joins the Collieries on a free-transfer from Blackburn Rovers. The 18-year old striker scored four goals with one assist in last season's u18 Premier League, and has recently represented Scotland at u17 level.
Meanwhile, the Black & Whites can announce the departure of striker Declan Daniels, who has agreed terms with an Northern Premier League Division 1 club. Dec has been a popular member of our squad, and we would like to wish him the best of luck with his new club and thank him for his efforts at the Skuna Stadium.
