Atherton Collieries would like to wish the best of luck to young forward Jordan Scanlon, who has today departed to Skuna Stadium to accept an offer from Hyde United.
The former Liverpool Academy midfielder made the step up to the Black and Whites from Ramsbottom alongside manager David Chadwick last summer, going on to tally 6 goals and 6 assists from 38 appearances over his year at the club, and picked up the Goal of the Season award for his strike against Morpeth.
David Chadwick adds: “Jordan is going to be a big loss for us not just on the pitch but off. Again, he’s got the chance to move higher after he’s grown working under us, and it’s great to see his continued development.”
Everybody at the club would like to thank Jordan for his commitment and contributions during his time at the Skuna, and we wish him well for his new challenge.
A full squad update, including a full list of retentions plus new signings, will be published by the club following the opening of the registration window in July.
