"It is with regret that we have to report the death of Holker Old Boys' secretary and League Management Committee member John Adams. John passed away in the early hours of Monday morning. League Chairman, Dave Tomlinson said: "Everyone associated with The League is devastated to learn of John's passing. He was a great servant to both Holker Old Boys, as club secretary, and to The North West Counties Football League, where he was a management committee member for a number of years. "On behalf of The North West Counties Football League, I would like to pass on our condolences to John's family and his football colleagues and friends at this difficult time." As a result of this news, tonight's game between Atherton Collieries and Holker Old Boys has been postponed as a mark of respect."
