Atherton Collieries are delighted to announce that defender Mark Ayres has returned to the club. Having played an instrumental role in the club's success last season, Ayres left to join Ramsbottom United in March. Following a recent health scare Ayres has been given the all clear and has decided to link up with Michael Clegg ahead of the upcoming season. The former FC United, Ramsbottom United and Radcliffe Borough favourite will be a welcome addition to the squad and the players are looking forward to welcoming Mark back. His last goal for the club came in March when he scored a crucial penalty in a 3-1 league win at Litherland REMYCA.
