Atherton Collieries can today confirm the return of goalkeeper Danny Taberner to the Skuna Stadium. Danny is a player who likely needs little introduction to the Colls faithful. Tabs first joined the Colls from Stockport Sports as a member of the now iconic "Class of 2014", playing a key role as the club lifted the North West Counties First Division trophy. After two seasons with the club, tallying 94 appearances, Danny went on to represent Prestwich and Northwich Victoria, with the latter of whom he reached the FA Vase Semi-Finals in a side captained by Brad Cooke.
Tabbsy returned to the Skuna Stadium in March 2020, increasing his appearance total to 114 over a further year with the club, including some fantastic performances at the beginning of this campaign as he provided early competition for Luke Hutchinson. In October, Danny departed for the Wirral, where he made nine appearances for City of Liverpool.
Danny Taberner will continue to be sponsored by 'Tabs Every Weekend', and we wish to thank them for their support.
