Trio Depart

With the season not yet totally finished, the manager has already started shaping his squad for next season. With another step up the ladder comes the inevitable increase in travel demands. With this in mind, it is with great sadness that we announce a couple of departures from the club. Midfielder Conor Gaul is unable to commit with not driving combined with working away. Conor provided a constant attacking threat last season, creating goals and netting six times himself, most notably the only goal of the game in an away win at Kidsgrove Athletic. Meanwhile, forward James Kirby is looking for a club closer to his Congleton home. Returning to the club in late November, James popped up with crucial goals including a brace in our home win against Chasetown and opening the scoring in a vital win away at Market Drayton Town. Lastly, wide man Connor Hughes has returned to Curzon Ashton in the Conference North after his loan period expired. Connor grabbed two important goals on our way to winning the championship, the opening goal against Leek Town on his debut and a pivotal winner away at Widnes. With the rest of last season’s squad verbally agreeing to return next season, we offer our gratitude to Conor, James and Connor. All three made a significant impact in what was our most successful season of all time, writing themselves into club folklore, achieving what will be talked about for many years to come. Needless to say they will always be welcome at the club and will forever be Collsmen.
