Atherton Collieries are recruiting for a Matchday Media Lead to support the club in providing high quality match coverage for our supporters and sponsors. This is an ideal opportunity for local college or university students or graduates, with a passion for sports journalism & media.
The key roles & responsibilities for the successful applicant(s) will include live match coverage on our social media feeds, written match reports & previews for our website & partnered newspaper outlets, and interviewing coaching staff & players for post-match media output.
These roles may be tailored to suit the strengths & weaknesses of any given successful applicant.
Applicants will be expected to be available for the majority of first team match-days on a voluntary basis, which will be most Saturdays alongside regular Tuesday night football also.
Further opportunities may also become available to produce written or video content for the highly popular club programme & magazine, as well as the upcoming new club website. Opportunities to help the club with social media management & output or youth team coverage will also be encouraged if interested.
We would like to invite interested applicants to submit samples or portfolios of their current sports journalism or media work, alongside a short written introduction showcasing what they are about and what they can bring to the club.
