Opportunity for a Sports Therapy / Physiotherapy Student!
Are you a Sports Therapy or Physiotherapy student looking to gain hands-on, pitch-side experience in a dynamic football environment?
Atherton Collieries, a semi-professional football club competing in The Northern Premier League, are offering an exciting voluntary placement for a motivated student to join our matchday medical support team.
What we offer:
• Pitch-side experience during home and away matches• Mentoring and guidance from an experienced FA ITMMiF (Level 4 ) Sports Medicine Nurse.• Insight into managing sports injuries in real-time• A supportive environment to build confidence and practical skills• The opportunity to work with a committed team and ambitious players
What we’re looking for:
• A student currently studying sports medicine, physiotherapy or sports therapy (undergrad or postgrad)• Enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn
• Availability on matchdays (typically Saturdays, occasional midweek fixtures)
• Basic first aid training (preferable to have also completed FA IFAFiF (level 1) & EFAIF (level 2 previously, but training can be advised and supported)
This is an ideal opportunity for a student looking to complete placement hours, gain experience in a sporting environment, and enhance their CV.
