We are genuinely over the moon to be announcing Ben's return to Atherton Collieries, for the third spell with the club.
The Wiganer played a handful of games for Colls as a teenager in the pre-season of 2013, including a goal away to Norcross & Warbreck (credit: Emil) and the Jolly Boys outing to Glantraeth, before heading to the US where amongst others he played at Oklahoma City Energy.
Ben made a massive impact last season, scoring memorable goals away at Ramsbottom United and Runcorn Linnets as Colls stamped their authority on the division over the New Year period.
Reacting to Ben's return, manager Micheal Clegg said:
“When we lost Ben last year, we followed that with 0-0 at Droylsden, 1-1 at Prescot, a 2-1 defeat to Colne, it really rocked us."
"We missed his creavity, he is a massive favourite in the dressing and I've no doubt he would of made team of the year in the Evovstik West if he'd completed the season. We have a great relationship, he said as much as he loved seeing us go and win the league, it killed him not to be part of it. We are delighted to bring him back from New Zealand.”
